The obverse depicts King Charles III at 75 years old, facing left, with the design created by Steven Rosati. The coin bears the inscription: “CHARLES III 50 DOLLARS 2024”. Steven Rosati’s initials, ‘SR,’ can be seen on King Charles III’s blazer, just beneath the collar.

The reverse depicts Canada’s national symbol, the Maple Leaf, and above it the text “CANADA”. On each side of the Maple Leaf are four nines visible, underneath the tiny security mark is engraved and likewise the text “FINE GOLD 1OZ OR PUR”, where the latter part of the sentence means “1 ounce of pure gold”.
